When discuss the developments of the applications on Windows Live Wave 3, we mentioned that Microsoft had released an API of Windows Live Photo Gallery, allowing it to third parties to create plug-ins with which users can upload their content, not just the services that are integrated by default (MSN Soapbox, and Flickr Spaces), but to everyone else.
Because we are appearing the first additions to give us the work of publishing content on Web services. Among them the most striking is one with which you can upload photos directly to Picasa Web Albums. Its operation is similar to the functions to upload photos to Spaces and Flickr, that is, we started our meeting with a Google account, then select an album of images, or create a new one. This add-on is not official (unlike Flickr) and has been created by a third party, so their choices are a bit poor (not to add tags or set permissions before uploading the photos).
There is also a plug-in to upload content to Web sites based on Drupal, and another for the SmugMug photo service. It appears only a matter of time before appearing gadgets with which to publish content on YouTube and Facebook directly from the Windows Live Photo Gallery. In addition, the APIs is designed to keep all the metadata from files to upload, so that a plug that allows us to upload photos to Facebook could exploit the labels people, and apply them to upload the image to the social network Zuckerberg.

This week has been an effective agreement between the television network CBS and YouTube to make available the first series of videos Shelf in the second. On the one hand have been elected the new seasons of the series as Showtime (Dexter, Californication, The Young And The Restless), and the other old glories (MacGyver, Star Trek, Beverly Hills). Today we can already enjoy the premières of Dexter and Californication, with the pleasant surprise of being available without geographic limitation.
The quality is good to be Youtube, it seems that using the new codec, but does not reach the levels to which we are accustomed in P2P environments. As an example, the chapter of Dexter for more than 50 minutes weighs 262 megs, when the torrent official weighs 535 megs, almost double. And how do you know how much you weigh this chapter? Because, folks, here comes the best: the video is available for download, just like any other video on YouTube. There are thousands of programs and services that you can use for this task, and I've been using KeepVid is perfect. And as MP4, exam, you can get directly to your iPod?
The user experience will undoubtedly improved with the inclusion of two developments: the way theater and down the lights. For a moment I doubt if you're on YouTube or Hulu, because the appearance is almost modeled. Unfortunately, the full-screen mode is unchanged, which means that we can not undo the anti aesthetics bar of reproduction. In return, as in the rest of videos from YouTube, we can move to any point in the video without having to see ads, perfect to continue to watch the episode where you left off.
But not everything is colored roses, as if anyone still with earlier, estaréis agree with me classify for adults, either by the small amount of violence or explicit sex. Strangely, the chapters come maimed for obtaining the status for all audiences, which tarnishes the good movement. In short, there is no boobs or "swear words" but stabbings. It also limited other functions of YouTube, such as not allowing embed the video on other sites.
Speaking of money, the form of monetization is through ads, such as pre-roll, mid-roll and post-roll (that is, before the video, during the video and to finish), along with a small banner. Being honest, AdBlock blocks them all, so I had to turn it off to see the real experience. I do not think excessive (in Dexter, there are only two ads), we'll see how it evolves.
On the economic aspects of the deal, it is said that YouTube will reserve 20% of the profits generated by the video, leaving an impressive 80% for the distributor. These percentages are even more aggressive than its competition: Hulu retains 30% of the profits. Therefore, certain that in the near future YouTube gets more similar content, to the delight of its users. My bet, Comedy Central, among other things because it already offers on its Web chapters complete within hours of broadcast, and without geographic limitation.
It is also interesting to CBS's strategy of placing their contents in all the virtual shop windows are available: the videos can be viewed on its website, in Hulu (redirecting to his website), on YouTube, iTunes, etc.? This is surely the way forward, otherwise does not make much sense. Hopefully in the near future also add Weeds and The Tudors, to round out the offering.
In short, it seems to me an excellent move by the two companies, and the user is benefited with the emergence of a new route to follow their favorite series. It is clear that things have improved, but frankly, that there is no geographical limitation is a welcome development in the professional video on the internet.

Adding to the rescue announced by the United States and Britain, the Russian parliament, known as the Duma, has approved a financial rescue, which includes a series of measures valued at 86 billion dollars to help financial institutions cope with the freezing of credits.
As reported by Russian parliamentarians, the government used 50 billion to help banks and firms that need to refinance their foreign debts, while the rest of the money, 36 billion, will be used as loans for banks.
As in the rest of the world's hardest hit markets, the bailout package was designed to restore confidence in local financial institutions and recover the value of their shares, which has collapsed in recent weeks with bags of all the world.

It has already begun the stage of public beta of Windows Live Wave 3, which means that from today anyone can download and test new versions of these Microsoft applications. The official website is download.live.com, as well as with the Beta 2 IE8, trial versions are available in over 15 languages, and the programs that we offer are already known to the Mail, Photo Gallery Messenger, Toolbar, Writer and Family Safety, along the brand new Windows Live Movie Maker and Outlook Connector, which now is included in the Windows Live suite. As it could not be otherwise, we've tested these new applications, and in this post you tell about all the developments that we find in them.
We have already spoken in detail about almost all the news of Windows Live Messenger 9 (News Feed, Scenes, minimalist interface, Photo Sharing, etc., etc.). The unique feature of this beta WLM9 on which we have not discussed anything is the ability to create avatars directly from a Webcam. To do this we click on our avatar, then in the window? Select image to show? we will? Snapshot with Webcam?. As WLM9 allows animated avatars, we can also record a short video of 4 seconds.
In addition can be created according to various vicissitudes? Our mood?. The image is changed automatically according to the emoticons to use. That way, if we use smilies, you'll automatically ours? Avatar happy?, Or whether we use a XD appears ours? Avatar slapstick?, Etc. (I think something absolutely useless). Another thing that stands out is that Windows Live Call, VoIP customer who used to come up in Messenger, now constitutes a separate application.
As was known by all, the new version of Windows Live Mail includes a calendar with two-way synchronization with Windows Live Calendar. This schedule has a minimalist interface on the same line as other applications Windows Live, and within its functions rescue the possibility of creating events from emails. In this beta yet we can not subscribe to calendars in ICS.
Windows Live Writer comes with new options to enrich the format of our posts, now allows us to change the text font and includes tools to edit and modify images easily without leaving the application (we can rotate, change the color, trim, etc. ). In addition, WLW is now integrated with YouTube, so we can upload content to this portal video directly from Writer. Similarly we are given the opportunity to explore our YouTube videos and embedded without using the browser.
Windows Live Photo Gallery comes with a face washing and interesting social features. We can label the people who appear on our photos using our contact list of Windows Live. In addition, selecting one of our contacts in the section of labels we can also see if people are sharing photos on Spaces or SkyDrive (in the Wave 3 albums of both services will be merged) and download them with a single click, or view photos in the browser. WLPG also comes with new features as far as photo editor is concerned, adding an option to straighten photos and another to implement filters (sepia, black and white, etc.). The characteristic of recognizing faces still does not work this beta.
Another thing that has improved is the assistant to import photos (which had hitherto was a complete disaster), ofreciéndosenos a more granular about how we organize the images they add. These are grouped by date of capture, and we can assign labels and folders different destination each group, as well as discriminating about whom we want to import photos. To make matters worse, Microsoft released an API so that it can create gadgets for Windows Live Photo Gallery and allows users to upload photos (with their respective metadata) directly to third-party services like Facebook, Picasa or Tuenti.
Live Windows Movie Maker is a complete disappointment (at least in this Beta). In a nutshell, this is a video editor for children aged 6 to the Ribbon interface (it is possible that the Windows Movie Maker ME have more functionality than this). Totally lacks basic features such as power cut clips, add bulleted text (loans and securities) or edit the video into a timeline. Not permtie create HD video, or record stories, or choose the format that will save the video. For now its only interesting feature is the option to upload video directly to the Internet (for the moment only Soapbox). Hopefully soon remedy all these shortcomings, because it will discontinue Windows Movie Maker to leave us with an idea that is not very interesting.
That's it for now. We can see further developments of the applications on the Windows Live Gallery screenshots.
